I Don’t Know Which Procedure Would Be Right For Me? I Have A Gummy Smile And I Would Like This Fixed.

February 10th, 2014
Q.

Hi, I have always disliked my teeth and I have been looking into cosmetic dentisty for a while. The problem I have is that I don’t know procedure it is that I require. My dentist doesn’t undertake cosmetic work but did inform me to look into lingual braces if I wasn’t happy. My top right teeth stick out slightly more than my top left teeth especially the front right tooth and the one next to it. I also have a ‘gummy smile’ which I hate. Not sure if anything can be done about my bottom teeth but when I was younger my dentist removed one of the bottom four smaller teeth, where you should have 4 smaller teeth on the bottom I have three one which is the size of two. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Doctor Patel, I’ve Developed A Sore Throat After Wearing Invisalign. Why Is This This?

December 23rd, 2013
Q.

Hey Doctor I have what I’m sure is a common problem that you could help me out with. Basically about 3 weeks ago I started on my Invisalign treatment. It was fine for the first couple of days but then I noticed that I had a slightly raw throat. I thought that this was just a bug that I’d get over so left it but it hasn’t got any better, it has in fact got worse. I’ve only just read that there are potential toxic reactions in some people so now I’m worried. Can you shed some light on this situation? Should I continue with the treatment or am I at risk of the problem getting worse if I do? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

Hey Dr Qureshi. I Would Like Lingual Braces But My Veneer Keeps Falling Off And Causing Problems. What Should I Do?

December 9th, 2013
Q.

Hey Dr Qureshi, I had removable braces for 3-4 years (age 13-16) to help straighten my top teeth, but after a year of no braces my teeth were crooked. Last year in August when I was 18 I had a veneer on one of my bottom teeth, however the fake tooth had fallen off twice, thus my tooth has now been covered with cement. I am now stuck because I want to have lingual braces, although that one tooth is causing problems, because if I have the cement taken off the tooth would be sensitive. What do you suggest that I do? Regards, I look forward to your advice.

Hi Doctor. I’m In A Bit Of A Pickle, A Bracket Has Come Loose And Food Keeps Getting Caught In It. Is This Normal?

November 18th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi. I’m in a bit of a pickle. My brace keeps getting food caught in it, it is the one that is on the back of the teeth and I didn’t think that this was supposed to happen. One of the brackets I think may be a little bit loose. Just wondering if it’s anything I should be concerned with. What would you suggest that I do? It’s the worst when I have toast or a sandwich, the bread just gets stuck and I have to reach for it with my tongue or when I clean my teeth. Is this just normal? I hope to hear from you, thank you for any advice in advance.

I Think My Inman Aligner Might Be Broken And I Don’t Want Folk Out More Money. What Should I Do?

October 28th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi. I have a problem as the little coil that comes with the Inman aligner is now at a funny angle, and I think it could be broken because when I put it back in after cleaning it felt really loose, I don’t know if it’s just me thinking it though as I might be worrying too much. Should I take it to my orthodontist to check out? I really don’t want to charged a fortune if it is broken though, I’ve already had to pay a lot to have it in the first place. Thanks. I hope you can help me with this as it’s bothering me.

I Made An Appointment Recently As I’m Having Six Month Smile Treatment, But My Dentist Is Ill And I Don’t Know What To Do?

October 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi, I have a problem I’d like to get off my chest as it’s really bothering me. I made an appointment recently with my dentist as soon as I had my adjustments (for 6 month smiles). I was supposed to have an appointment this week but it was cancelled due to him taking ill. I haven’t been scheduled to see anyone else and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do? The receptionist said someone would be in touch but they haven’t yet so should I be concerned? Will this delay affect my treatment at all?

May 14th, 2013
Q.

hey dr qureshi, my problem is one of an urgent nature really. basically i very recently got an inman aligner to rectify my crooked teeth, this is because i got really sick of being unhappy with my smile. i thought it’d be easier that is has proven so far. i am in quite a lot of pain and have been since they were put in. it feels as though there is maybe too much pressure, i mean, i was told initially that the aligner would cause me some pain but i’m not sure if this is quite right. could you please advise me on whether or not i should stick with the treatment?

Can I get treatment to correct the gaps between my teeth?

March 19th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I am having gaps between the teeth and I would like to know which treatment will be the best to correct this. Though I had put braces at the age of 16, I failed to put the retainers properly which caused the gaps. I am a 31 year old female, is it possible to correct the gaps now ? Also I would like to know how much it will cost me and how long it will take? Also for the last 1 month I am having a blister in the gum just above the teeth. As advised by my GP I started using mouthwash and taking vitamin C tablets as well. This hasnt done any better. What could be the reason for this blister ?Please advice

Will any of the past dental work I’ve had affect my suitability for lingual braces?

November 22nd, 2012
Q.

I am in a bit of confusion over my teeth. I have had a lot of treatments to my teeth in the past and was wondering if this woud stop me getting lingual braces in anyway. I had root canal treatment done on two teeth on the right hand side of my mouth on the bottom set of teeth. I have had these filled along with t double tooth on the top right, I am 30 now but when I was seventeen I had treatment to cure an over shot as my bottom teeth extruded farther than my top and were overlapped. I didnt keep to my retainer though so my teeth are now crooked. this is my fault and i want to put it right. Is there any reasons from what you can read here that would stop me having a brace behind my teeth? thank you
