I Think My Inman Aligner Might Be Broken And I Don’t Want Folk Out More Money. What Should I Do?

Q.
Hello Dr Qureshi. I have a problem as the little coil that comes with the Inman aligner is now at a funny angle, and I think it could be broken because when I put it back in after cleaning it felt really loose, I don’t know if it’s just me thinking it though as I might be worrying too much. Should I take it to my orthodontist to check out? I really don’t want to charged a fortune if it is broken though, I’ve already had to pay a lot to have it in the first place. Thanks. I hope you can help me with this as it’s bothering me.

Hello and thank you for your enquiry. It’s sounds like you should have it checked out. Your orthodontist may be able to fix it. You must also consider that if your aligner is in fact broken, it may not function how it should and the money you have already spent will be wasted, as teeth can move back into position, and you may have to start from scratch. I really hope this helps. Best wishes, Dr Saba Qureshi.
