I Think My Inman Aligner Might Be Broken And I Don’t Want Folk Out More Money. What Should I Do?

October 28th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi. I have a problem as the little coil that comes with the Inman aligner is now at a funny angle, and I think it could be broken because when I put it back in after cleaning it felt really loose, I don’t know if it’s just me thinking it though as I might be worrying too much. Should I take it to my orthodontist to check out? I really don’t want to charged a fortune if it is broken though, I’ve already had to pay a lot to have it in the first place. Thanks. I hope you can help me with this as it’s bothering me.

Can You Detail What The Recovery Period Is Like After Jaw Break Surgery?

June 4th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr I hope you can clear a few things up for me. I have a terrible bite problem that’s been bugging me for years and I am wondering whether to go through with jaw break surgery so that I can also have my teeth straightened with orthodontics. Is the healing process particularly painful? WIll I have to have a completely liquid diet after it, and if so for how long? Also, how much time do you think that I’ll need off work in order to get all of this done correctly? Looking forward to your response. Thank you.

Is Filing My Teeth Down The Way To Get Rid Of My Overbite?

April 15th, 2013
Q.

I have a over bite really bad my two front teeth are long there not crooked or anything kinda look like rabbit teeth and I was wondering how I would get it fixed? if braces would help? or if there was such a thing where they could shave them down? everytime I try to open my mouth all the way my jaw will pop before I can open it what could that be? I think they called it TMJ I don’t know if that could have something to do with me having an over bite or not.

I had braces when I was a teenager but now have a clicking jaw. What can I do?

March 13th, 2013
Q.

I had braces when I was a teenager but unfortunately my teeth have moved. Although I stopped wearing my retainer my dentist says that my teeth also moved as I now have ‘clicking jaw’ which I did not have before my braces when I was a teenager. He says this was probably as a result of my orthodontic treatment? I was wondering how this could be treated and also I feel that my teeth that sit right next to my two front teeth are too short? Can this be fixed with cosmetic dentistry or would I need orthodontic work?

How much would a front braces cost to fix my gapped teeth?

February 27th, 2013
Q.

Hello. I have a question about a front brace ? What would be the average price for it ? Hi I just thought I would ask these questions as my two front teeth aren’t together completely as my left tooth is forward more than the rest of my teeth so this makes it looks very unappealing to smile with it and i’m mocked for it and i’m now over eighteen so i don’t know how much it would cost in terms of dentist prices for a front brace Thank you for your time if you have a chance to read this as i would love some help .. Thank you.

Is there a brace available that can reduce the appearence of my overbite?

September 14th, 2012
Q.

Hi, dr i was wondering if you could help me? I am 17 and i have a really bad overbite. Is there any way i can have a brace that would make the overbite not stick out as much? i really do not want to have any surgery the thought of it really scares me, i am just looking into some other options before i discuss it with my dentist/doctor. i am scared about what they’re going to say so i would just like a sort of an opinion. have you been across anyone with bad overbites and managed to fix them up, quickly? i feel that it is affecting my time in college now. thank you.

What order should I have my dental work carried out?

January 31st, 2012
Q.

Hi, i need a dental implant but also want a 6 month brace fitted. can you tell whether the brace would have to be fitted first to align the teeth then the dental implant fitted or would the implant be fitted first then brace? I was told my tooth wasnt strong enough to put a venner on when i spoke about having them so was worried about a brace being fitted on the tooth that needs a dental implant as it would be moved? many thanks

I have wonky teeth, but at 16 in full time education why do I have to pay £1900?

January 31st, 2012
Q.

My teeth at the bottom and the top are wonky. When I went to an orthodontist he had said Braces would cost £1900, even though im 16 years old and still in full time education. He had also said that it was classed as cosmetic surgery, even though I had been promised braces to help this problem when I was 9. My wisdom teeth have started growing and there isnt enough room, which is pushing my teeth and making them more wonky. Is there any other procedures that could help my teeth straighten out without high costs?

Why have I heard so many different tales about different brace types?

January 31st, 2012
Q.

hello Mr Patel. I have been llooking into getting a brace and have found that it is with anything else in life. If you want it and it looks good its not as good as it sounds, or not as good as the ugly one you dont want!!! in this case it comes down to the inman aligner and invisalign vs the damon and lingual for me. this is the small short-list which i have yet with the first two you’d think they had never been used or been successful with the things you hear “…they may not work, may not be for you, wont achieve this if any of the following 1000 criteria points don’t match…” etc. yet with the slightly more unsightly of the four (Damon) all you hear is amazing tales. I am not about to ask you which is best of the four but what are your opinions on the inman aligner and Damon system as a whole (not diagnosing for me- just your thoughts as an expert?) any feedback will help me build a picture of what to look for/expect. thank you

What if I need other dental treatment whilst wearing a brace?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi- I want braces and am thinking – after I consult my dentist/orthodontist to find out costs and whether it would be the right thing for me to do or not, about having lingual braces fitted as they will offer me the freedom to live life as normal as is possible with braces. but. no matter whether I have these linguals or a set of traditional ones I have concerns as to what happens if i need any other corrective treatment in a mean time. so If I were the brace and experience tooth ache or tooth decay of some form that means I need a root canal or something then would I be able to have it or does it mean any corrective surgery id put on hold until the braces are off?
