Hi, dr i was wondering if you could help me? I am 17 and i have a really bad overbite. Is there any way i can have a brace that would make the overbite not stick out as much? i really do not want to have any surgery the thought of it really scares me, i am just looking into some other options before i discuss it with my dentist/doctor. i am scared about what they’re going to say so i would just like a sort of an opinion. have you been across anyone with bad overbites and managed to fix them up, quickly? i feel that it is affecting my time in college now. thank you.

Thanks for your question. Orthodontics is what you more than likely require. We deal with these issues day in day out!
The best thing to do is to have a consultation so that they can see whether you really need surgery or whether orthodontics alone will be enough. You will be amazed at how few people need surgery so I would not worry about it!
