I’m having difficulty straightening teeth, what options should I look at?

Q.
Hi Darsh,
Im really worried about my teeth because i have really goofy front teeth that lead me to being bullied in college and i hopegully want to get rid of yhis burden before uni. I have already had braces however i only had fixed braces on my lower teeth, my upper teeth were straightened with retainers which had very little effect but the dentist kept reassuring me it was the best way. After treatment was completement i didnt really bother to wear retainers becuase the braces didnt make much of a difference to the main part of my mouth, upper hald where my teeth stick out horribly ….so bad that i cant even close my lips.i had this orthodontics treatment when i was 15/16 yrs old and now im 17. Some relatives have suggested i go to india and get a full mouth restoration (or something like that where all teeth are removed and replaced with plastic PERFECT ones), india was suggested as it is hometown and cheap. I was told in leicester the costs would be too high and so i need your guidance sir…. Please helpnme out and tell me what my best approach would be ? Thanks alot dentist

It sounds like the treatment you received when younger did not address your main concerns. This being made worse by the lack of retainer wear, which prevented holding even the small change as you mentioned. Having all your teeth taken out and “plastic” ones put in would be disastrous.
The best thing at this stage would be to have an Orthodontic consultation with a Specialist who can diagnose the underlying cause of why your teeth stick out. From there they will give you your options for you to decide what is best for you. It is important for long-term stability that whatever option is chosen allows your lips to close as much as possible.
Hope this helps and Good luck
