I Have Porcelain Crowns And I Would Like To Know If Lingual Braces Are Suitable Or Is There A Chance They Can Chip?

October 21st, 2013
Q.

Hi. I have to porcelain crowns on my front teeth because of an accident I was involved in several years ago. My canine teeth have always protruded and I’m looking into getting some discreet braces. My only concern is that a brace will damage my crowns, they’re very new I only had them replaced last month. Even if I had braces attached to the back of my teeth there’s a chance they’ll chip away at the back of my crowns, isn’t there? Can you please help me and offer some advice. What is a good brace for those with crowns? Thank you for your time.

Which Type Of Brace Will Rectify My Canine Trouble?

July 11th, 2013
Q.

My teeth are very crowded, both the upper and the lower with my canines digging into my gums. My mum didn’t think I needed braces when I was younger and when she realised it was too late to received them through the NHS. They are a state though and I’m looking for a good brace system that will fix them as soon as possible. I think it seems likely that the canines will have to be removed but do you know of any brace that can avoid this from happening? I’d have to pay for implants or whatever then as well wouldn’t I? It’s going to cost me an absolute fortune and I have no idea where to start but I can’t carry on like this. Thank you for reading this.

Please give me some information back thank you.. I have two very large front teeth and my smile is horrible my teeth are not straight I need help. If you can give me some information on some thing that I could look into and the cost or insurances that cover stuff like this that would be good! Would lingual braces work to fix a protruding bottom jaw?

March 13th, 2013
Q.

Would you recommend lingual braces for someone who has a protruding bottom jaw? Mine really, really sticks out and just makes me so uncomfortable and awkward in public. It also stops me from eating or speaking properly and I just feel that enough is enough and it’s time to get treatment! Do you think the lingual braceis a good choice for me and if not could you recommend other treatment for me? Any help you can give would be brilliant and i very much appreciate it thank you for your time and help

Can you get dental braces if you have a few missing teeth?

November 26th, 2012
Q.

Hi can you tell me which would be the best brace for me in my specific situation? i have an overbite (it isn’t that bad however) and i also have two missing teeth at the back of my mouth(at the bottom) and one back tooth missing at the top to round off the problems. I just want a general idea from a dental professional like yourself, can you still wear braces if you have a few missing teeth? thanks!

Are there any major differences between traditional braces and lingual braces?

November 22nd, 2012
Q.

i am 20 I have overlapped teeth, nothing major just overlapped the issue i now face is that my teeth i dont think are ready for braces. i have slight concaves in some of my my teeth, is this normal, is it a problem or could it be full stop? secondly could it stop me having braces and fixing my gap teeth. then, if i have a brace- being over 16 and needing to pay for it myself how much would it cost and how big is the difference between traditional braces and lingual in terms of finance is it actually that huge? also, sorry, are lingual braces quicker or better in any way (other than them being hidden) that i dont know of?

Can the front of my teeth be too uneven to have braces fitted to them?

April 17th, 2012
Q.

Dear Saba, I have been having problems with my teeth for some time now. I have a really uneven surface to some of my front teeth especially those on the lower jaw. I think this is because of my diet in the past, which has vastly improved over the last few years. The issue is my teeth are crooked and I think are wearing on teeth from the upper arch as a result. (as a few stick out). as for having a brace could I have it on the teeth even if the surface is uneven or would it be a better idea to have them on the back of the teeth as I think this is nice and smooth? thanks for your time

What would you say is the most obvious alternative to traditional braces?

January 31st, 2012
Q.

Hello, I really want braces but I dont want conventional ones. I really hate ttraintracks and all that comes with them, the speaking problems etc… Coupled with the fact that they look disgusting I just dont want them. I have seen a lot of alternatives but have noticed that different dentists/orthodontists/specialists all have different opinions on each, for example I have heard bad things of the inman aligner, saying it isnt an exact science and all this. givene these suggestions what would you say is the most obvious alternative to traditiona braces? thanks

Would I be suitable for Invisalign and would I need teeth pulled?

January 31st, 2012
Q.

I have relatively, in my opinion, relatively straight teeth and have always looked after them, as a result i have no issues with gum disease/bleeding when i brush etc (I was told tis was vital when getting braces). The only problem are my protruding two front buck teeth. Given the circumstances of no more space, could my two font teeth be pushed back with invisalign? Or would I have to pull teeth out to create space, secondly to this would it be harder for me to clean my teeth, making me more likely to get a gum disease or something? tah

I have wonky teeth, but at 16 in full time education why do I have to pay £1900?

January 31st, 2012
Q.

My teeth at the bottom and the top are wonky. When I went to an orthodontist he had said Braces would cost £1900, even though im 16 years old and still in full time education. He had also said that it was classed as cosmetic surgery, even though I had been promised braces to help this problem when I was 9. My wisdom teeth have started growing and there isnt enough room, which is pushing my teeth and making them more wonky. Is there any other procedures that could help my teeth straighten out without high costs?
