Are there any major differences between traditional braces and lingual braces?

Q.
i am 20 I have overlapped teeth, nothing major just overlapped the issue i now face is that my teeth i dont think are ready for braces. i have slight concaves in some of my my teeth, is this normal, is it a problem or could it be full stop? secondly could it stop me having braces and fixing my gap teeth. then, if i have a brace- being over 16 and needing to pay for it myself how much would it cost and how big is the difference between traditional braces and lingual in terms of finance is it actually that huge? also, sorry, are lingual braces quicker or better in any way (other than them being hidden) that i dont know of?
A.
These are all good questions that would all be answered with having an orthodontic consultation with a specialist as you are interested in lingual appliances. I would be very surprised if you did not qualify for some type of brace.
Goodluck
