What dental plan would you recommend if I was to get braces in my 40’s?

Q.
Hello doctor! I hate my teeth. They’ve always been horrible and i’ve always has difficulty with them. I’ve been self conscious about them my whole life and no that i’m older I want to do something about them. they’re all crooked and discoloured and I cant stand looking at them anymore. I’m 45 and need something soon. I’m hoping that I can get a brace. do you think that this would be possible?. with this information, what dental plan would you recommend for me?

Hi there,

First of all, let me put your mind to rest. The majority of the time something can be done with braces to correct the position of the teeth, there are very few instances, mainly due to the quality of the teeth, that we can’t straighten them.

Even better, nowadays there are lots of options available depending on the particular problem you present with. Fixed braces, either aesthetic, ceramic ones, or hidden lingual braces, or even removable systems like Invisalign.

The best course of action I can suggest is to arrange some consultations with orthodontists regarding the best option for you and get an idea of cost. Then it’s up to you whether you have the teeth whitened before or after the braces.

Lots can be done and you don’t have to feel this way. I hope this is of some use and good luck in acheiving the smile that you want and deserve.
