Which Braces Have The Fastest Treatment Time?

May 22nd, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi, I’m hoping you can help me out. Around 6 years ago I had braces and my teeth were fine after treatment, very straight. I didn’t wear the retainer as much as I should have so I only have myself to blame I know, but my teeth have now moved back to their original position. Obviously I want my teeth to be straight again, but now time is an issue so I need the fastest brace possible!!! What would you suggest? I’ve been looking at both fixed and removable braces. Thanks!

Can I Have Lingual Braces Before My Maxillofacial Surgery Instead Of Fixed Braces?

March 10th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Qureshi. I hope you can help me with my question as I would like clarity on my subject. I have had Maxillofacial surgery about 9 years 8 years ago, I am 28 now and am having to go through the treatment again as I have a bad bite, so my jaw is still slightly to one side, and the bite is not correct. I hate having to have braces again but I wanted to ask; can the orthodontist use lingual braces instead of the regular ones before the surgery, as I do not like the idea of having braces on the front of my teeth again? Many thanks. I thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing your reply.

Are Traditional Fixed Braces A Better Way Of Obtaining The Hollywood Smile Or Do Lingual Braces Work Just As Well?

January 27th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi, I have 6 months smile braces on my teeth. I would like to know if I had the lingual braces, would I get a nicer looking smile? I want the “hollywood” smile. I also do not have any problems with my bite. I don’t feel any pressure or pain, so I feel like the teeth are not really moving much. I sometimes feel if I had the traditional braces I would end up with a better looking smile, is this true? I have the impression traditional braces are more stronger and do a better job, because they cause more pain and I have seen people after they have them and their smile is really beautiful. Thank you for your time.

I Would Like To Know Just How Effective The Differing Types Of Lingual Brace Are?

September 19th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I would like to know what the chances are of relapse for all the kinds of lingual braces available please? I’ve been put off from having invisalign and 6 month smiles because my general dentist said that aligners aren’t as effective as fixed braces. I don’t want fixed braces, I am desperate for lingual but heard that chances of relapse is far greater if I invest in them. My orthodontist has told me different things but I don’t know who to believe as I’ve been with my general dentist for 10 years! Can you please advise me? Thank you!

As A Model I Can’t Have Fixed Braces, What Do You Recommend?

July 29th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Qureshi. As a woman you’ll understand the importance of looks, especially these days. I’m applying to be a model currently and I’ve had a few remarks about my teeth. My two front teeth contain a small gap but they also stick out ever so slightly, my dentist has said I have an overbite. In order for me to succeed with the modelling I’m going to need braces. The thing is, I can’t have anything fixed because of the work I’ll be doing. Can you please suggest a type of brace for me that will be suitable? And could you please give me an idea of how long I’ll have to wear them for? Thank you for your time.

I’m unsure if my braces are still working as I can’t feel much forces. Can you advise?

November 29th, 2012
Q.

I have been wearing my braces for about 5 months now and am a little worried that it isn’t as effective as it once was. It feels a great deal looser and my teeth don’t seem to be moving as much as they once were. Is this just the way the braces works or should it be something for me to worry about? I am due to go back and see my dentist in about a month, but do you think it would be better if I did it now instead? I really want to get the best out of my brace, and it would seem a waste of time and money if I left things now. Do you think I will have to have a new brace at all? Thanks

How long will Invisalign take to straighten teeth and what are the alternatives?

April 17th, 2012
Q.

Hi, Mr Patel I have been on your website for invisibrace and it got me thinking. I have been wondering about braces for a while now ever since I learnt they could go on the back as well as the font of the teeth. I had always thought of the conventional types you see. one of my more favoured treatments looks to be the invisalign. I assume it wont fix every case but it looks good. what treatment time would you say we’re looking at with this on average? if I cannot have this treatment what tends to be the most common alternative/ thanks

Is there a braces that will move wayward upper left incisor into alignment?

March 9th, 2012
Q.

Hello Mr Patel, thank you for reading this,. I am nineteen and have a problem with my tooth. My upper left incisor sits higher up than the gumline of the rest of my teeth. as such this has caused me a great deal of distress and discomfort in terms of eating as there have been no teeth there to tear into foods. I have all my life taken meats and things that need tearing tot he right hand side and have subsequently crushed foods on the left. I fear this in itself has caused more damage? Is there a brace that will bring this tooth down to the rest and could you share anything on your mind about this situation. thanks again.

What if I need other dental treatment whilst wearing a brace?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi- I want braces and am thinking – after I consult my dentist/orthodontist to find out costs and whether it would be the right thing for me to do or not, about having lingual braces fitted as they will offer me the freedom to live life as normal as is possible with braces. but. no matter whether I have these linguals or a set of traditional ones I have concerns as to what happens if i need any other corrective treatment in a mean time. so If I were the brace and experience tooth ache or tooth decay of some form that means I need a root canal or something then would I be able to have it or does it mean any corrective surgery id put on hold until the braces are off?
