Hello, I was given my STB lingual braces only five days ago and I’ve managed to break the brackets already. The thing is I grind my teeth a lot, but it’s not like I do it on purpose obviously, and it’s even worse when I’m sleeping. I didn’t mention anything because number one) I thought the orthodontist would have noticed anyway without me having to say and number two) i thought if they knew i grinded my teeth then i wouldn’t receive the braces in the first place but I really wanted them…what should i do to solve this problem? am I going to have to pay for a new set? thank you!

These things do happen and I would suggest that you explain the situation thoroughly to the Orthodontist and there are ways of helping to prevent you from biting into brackets temporarily while the teeth align to prevent any further damage. But do go and see them as soon as possible and good luck
