I have a very low pain threshold, how much pain am I likely to experience when receiving lingual braces?

Q.
Hello, I have a very, very low pain threshold and even the slightest nip is really painful to me. I am looking into receiving lingual braces, removable ones preferably in case the pain is too much. Can you tell me how much pain I am likely to experience from lingual braces? Have you ever had any patients that suffer from the same problem? If so how did they manage the discomfort? Thank you in advance.

There is no simple answer here, there will be some level of discomfort which cannot be avoided. You will be given things to help if things rub and shown how to look after the brace to maximise comfort. I suggest a very experience lingual appliance clinician and not one that has done very few as this will help in the level of comfort due to their experience!

Lets put it this way, i have never had anyone I have had to remove braces for due to the “pain” so the odds are in your favour.
Good luck
