Hi there Ms Qureshi.
Hi, On your page on the sparkle website you describe modern day orthodontics as ‘magic’ and having looked at lingual braces I must agree with you. however before I do I must challenge a few concepts 😀 all well natured. I have long considered getting braces and at thirty five I feel now’s the time to do just that. I have as I say looked at the lingual brace and see it as more of a sound option along with traditional’s and Damon systems the rest I see as a bit gimmicky even if i do like the invisalign idea. I was wondering what you would recommend for the best outcome between the lingual braces and Invisalign if you had the choice of wearing either. as according to my dentist I should be eligable for either? your thoughts will be highly regarded, thanks
Hi,
Well, that’s a tough one. Invisalign is a great system if you are suitable for it… there are a number of tooth movements that it just can’t do, and when I see a patient, experience allows me to judge this. If you are suitable and you have the discipline to remember to put the aligners back in after every meal/snack/hot drink then it may be for you.
If however, your case is a more complicated one, then the lingual braces would be better, as they allow more control of tooth movements in such cases. I find they are very good, but expect a slightly longer period of adjustment with these as they lie near the tongue and will affect the speech for the first few weeks,
As I am sure you can appreciate, it is hard to advise which is best for you without seeing you in person, but I hope this proves to be helpful,
Kind regards,
