I had braces 3 years ago but a gap has suddenly appeared between my lateral and central incisors. What should I do?

Q.

Hi, I had braces for about 3 years and got them removed early. I wear my retainers 24/7 now that I have some that fit okay. A few months later I started flossing daily and noticed that a tiny gap appeared in between my lateral and central incisors on both sides on the top teeth. I am quiet elf conscious about it as I had braces for 3 years and expected near perfect teeth. Will a fixed retainer, some wires or something else be required to fix these tiny gaps? I really hope nothing big has to happen because they are only tiny (not really noticeable) But still make me feel self conscious. Thank you.

I had braces but my teeth have since relapsed. I don’t want braces or anything too invasive. Can you advise?

Q.

i already wore braces when i was in my seventh grade .But now after six years i am experiencing a relapse and there is a gap in between my front two teeth and one of my front tooth is slightly up .do i need to wear braces again and undergo the whole treatment over again or is there any other way i could bridge the gap between my front two teeth without cutting the teeth and then filling them .Some doctors i visited here advised me to either put on braces for a year again or suggested me to undergo root canal and cut the tooth which is in the front and then fill the gap and place a cap . i do not wan to cut my teeth nor undergo the braces treatment all over again .so could you please suggest a method .

Is 3 months a reasonable treatment time for the Inman Aligner?

January 11th, 2013
Q.

My dentist has told me that my treatment will only be a few months and I just wanted to make sure that that was the right diagnosis of my orthodontic condition. I question it just because I had treatment a few years back (which has now moved) and it took like over a year for anything to have happened and that was a fixed brace. I know my teeth aren’t as bad now, but I am just a bit worried that my dentist might just be fobbing me off. What do you think? Is 3 months a general treatment time with the Inman aligner? Thank you .

Would getting a retainer make up for the relapse of my teeth after wearing braces?

Q.

Hello, I had fixed braces as a teen (the horrible train-track type) and failed to use my retainer properly in later years. I feel my teeth have relapsed but not severely, they still look quite straight there’s just 2 on the front at the top that are protruding slightly. Do you think I’d be suitable for 6 month smiles? OR could I just get a new retainer from my ortho in the mean time (till I can afford new braces)? what do you think?
