Which Type of Lingual Brace is Right for Me?

July 29th, 2014
Q.

Hello, I’m looking at braces but don’t know which ones are right for me. I actually didn’t know there were so many different types of lingual brace! Obviously it’s great to have a selection but I’m starting to get confused between all the different kinds. I have two quite big gaps between my teeth and some of the teeth at the front are a bit crooked, but apart from that they’re quite straight – not a complete mess! I want to start saving for braces so I’d just like to know which you think would be best for me?

I’m 16 and Still At School. Why Do I Need to Pay For Treatment?

June 23rd, 2014
Q.

Hi, I’m 16 years old and still at school. My teeth are very wonky on both the top and the bottom. I visited an orthodontist and he said I’d have to pay nearly £2000. He said this is because it’s classed as a cosmetic thing, but my normal dentist has been telling me I need braces since I was 7. I’ve got a wisdom tooth coming through at the bottom and it’s pushing my teeth and making them even more crooked. Can I have any other kind of treatment that isn’t so expensive?

Would You Recommend Going Abroad to Get Lingual Braces?

June 16th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Qureshi. I am 29 years old and would love to get lingual braces to straighten out my smile. I live just outside of London though and the prices of all the different brace systems I’ve looked at are very, VERY expensive. I feel as though I’m too old for traditional braces and lingual braces sound perfect for me. I have looked at getting them abroad and it’s significantly cheaper, would you recommend this? I’ve read a few success stories so am curious, as I would really like to get my teeth straightened.

Do I Need A Brace For Just Two Teeth?

May 16th, 2014
Q.

Hello.
I’ve been to see my orthodontist a few times now and every time I go they’ve said I need a different kind of brace! It’s all because I’ve got two crooked tooth at the bottom of my mouth at the front. I’m not interested in treating any other teeth, just those two. I’ve been recommended 6 month smiles and invisalign, but I don’t really even want braces for just two teeth when the rest are fine! Can you recommend a treatment that’s just for one tooth? Thanks!!

Can I get braces if I already have a dental bridge?

January 17th, 2013
Q.

I have lost one of my upper canine teeth in an unforeseen accident and have had it replaced with a dental bridge. However, the dental problems dont end there, as my top teeth are very crooked and I am not at all happy with how my smile looks. I wonder then can I get braces to straighten my teeth whilst Im wearing a dental bridge? Is this possible? Or will it have to be taken out for the treatment to be completed? The bridge is attached with cement to the two opposing teeth; so will this pose any more difficulties? I would really like a good smile so any help you can give me would be really brilliant. Thanks

Are my crooked teeth ‘hiding’ bacteria?

June 29th, 2012
Q.

hello Mr Patel. i have been suffering from problems with my teeth for a while now and i think it could give me gum disease. I have been looking online at things that say that crooked teeth can hide bacteria that you cant get at when brushing. if this is the case then I am in a rush. I am twenty and i have had crooked teeth for nearly eighteen years. If this is causing some damage that I can’t see and I need to fix it. which brace gets teeth straight whist still being able to brush/ maintain health? what would you recommend ? thank you very much for your time.

I have two very crooked front teeth, will lingual braces fix them?

June 29th, 2012
Q.

Hello there, i wondered if you could help me? I have long considered getting braces for my crooked front teeth. There is not a lot of teeth that are crooked mainly just the two at the front which are not straight and this can sometimes have a very negative effect on how I am feeling on any given day. I would like to know what is the effectiveness of lingual braces in such a case and if it would be a suitable option for myself? Is there any other braces option you feel would be better?

Is there any reason why I shouldn’t have the Inman aligner?

March 23rd, 2012
Q.

Hello. I have looked at various brace options now and am a bit fed up of looking.I want to get braces as soon as possible. I like the look of the inman aligner as a way of fixing mildly crooked teeth. I have however heard bad press about them so to speak. never anything academic just oh this isn’t proper and things like that. Is there any reason why you wouldn’t administer this treatment or even opt for an alternative. thanks

My front teeth are severely crossed, would lingual braces work for me?

December 20th, 2011
Q.

It is only my front teeth that I have a problem with and this has been the case all my life. Would lingual braces be a good choice to sort out a problem with only these teeth? I’ve read about other treatments like six month smiles but my problems with the front teeth are quite severe so I don’t think it would work. How is lingual braces with severe tooth problems, like askew or something problems?
