My teeth are still straight after lingual braces but is there more I should know?

Q.
Hi, I had lingual braces a few years back now, and my teeth are still straight but I have seen alot of people with braces and after they got them removed there teeth looked smooth and the edges were aligned, I never remember my orthodontist doing this to me but I asked one of my friends and she said all they did was file her teeth down, I just want to know about how much does this cost and a little more information thanks.

I am pleased to hear that your teeth are still straight after a course of orthodontic treatment. The edges of teeth should always be aligned in the correct way during the orthodontic treatment, they should never be just filed to correct uneven edges of teeth. This should always be done as part of an overall treatment plan where there are uneven edges due to wear or chips on the edges of teeth.

To be assessed for any potential recontouring of your teeth, you would need to have a consultation with a Specialist Orthodontist who will identify the cause of the uneven edges and then advise appropriately what options and costings there are for improving the current result.

Good luck!
