What order should I have my dental work carried out?

January 31st, 2012
Q.

Hi, i need a dental implant but also want a 6 month brace fitted. can you tell whether the brace would have to be fitted first to align the teeth then the dental implant fitted or would the implant be fitted first then brace? I was told my tooth wasnt strong enough to put a venner on when i spoke about having them so was worried about a brace being fitted on the tooth that needs a dental implant as it would be moved? many thanks

Are invisible braces actually that discreet?

January 17th, 2012
Q.

I am seriously considering lingual braces or some other kind of invisible braces. Are these a better option in terms of how discreet they are? I’ve not really seen images of these or other invisible braces and I suppose you don’t know how discreet they are until you actually see them. Also what kind of experience and qualifications should I look for in a lingual dentist if you don’t mind me asking. Much appreciated.

Can braces be worn on ‘weak’ teeth?

January 17th, 2012
Q.

I’m twenty six year olds and am considering getting Lingual Braces but been told by my old dentist that my teeth are too weak for braces and I should get bridges, but I do not want to extract or “shape” my teeth for bridges and change them every 5-10 years for the rest of my life, and I dont have missing teeth so there’s no point of extracting. and read somewhere on some website that there is not such a thing as Too Weak Teeth For Braces… so my question is… Can braces be worn on weak teeth?

Having had diabetes, periodontal disease and now a tooth that’s moved I am now looking to fix it.

January 17th, 2012
Q.

I am a 47 yr.old woman with well maintained diabetes for 30 yrs. now. Over the years I have developed periodontal gum disease(from not visiting a dentist like I should have) and from this a tooth has moved out of it’s original position, making a gap appear. Now going to the dentist for regular exams and cleanings, I’m interested in having this problem fixed. I would like to know what your suggestion would be on how to fix this problem. The moved tooth is located in the front & on the bottom of my mouth so when I smile it is very visible and i’m very self conscious of this. Please help!

I have been told that lingual braces aren’t actually that good. Is this true?

January 12th, 2012
Q.

I am to have my lingual braces put into place next monday. I am really beginning to regret this decision after a discussion with my general dentist (i’m getting the braces from a separate ortho guy) as he said they aren’t really all that good. I only really wanted them because they are supposed to be hidden behind the teeth and I don’t want to be showing off braces while I’m in my work on a daily basis. Is this how it is? Please help me out.

Can you give me an estimate price for Lingual braces to fix small tooth gaps and an overbite issue?

January 9th, 2012
Q.

I have spent much of the last week looking on sites about the different braces available and I am pretty sure that lingual braces are just about the right ones for me. I have small gaps and there is also the issue of an overbite that needs to be fixed. Is there a rough price that you can tell me for this treatment and the issues I have and whether it is indeed suitable?

Which of Invisalign and Lingual braces would you recommend to straighten teeth?

January 4th, 2012
Q.

Hi there Ms Qureshi.
Hi, On your page on the sparkle website you describe modern day orthodontics as ‘magic’ and having looked at lingual braces I must agree with you. however before I do I must challenge a few concepts 😀 all well natured. I have long considered getting braces and at thirty five I feel now’s the time to do just that. I have as I say looked at the lingual brace and see it as more of a sound option along with traditional’s and Damon systems the rest I see as a bit gimmicky even if i do like the invisalign idea. I was wondering what you would recommend for the best outcome between the lingual braces and Invisalign if you had the choice of wearing either. as according to my dentist I should be eligable for either? your thoughts will be highly regarded, thanks
