How Much Would it Cost to Fix an Overbite and Close a Gap Between My Teeth?

August 15th, 2014
Q.

Hi there!
I’m 28 years old and have a pretty big gap between my two front teeth, which bothers me more than my overbite. Obviously it would be ideal to get both sorted BUT my main concern is the gap because it’s so obvious. I’ve been looking at veneers but would the overbite prevent me from being able to have them? My dentist thinks braces would be better than veneers, but I thought I’d get a second opinion from your good self. How much would the quickest option cost? Thank you!

Should I Have to Pay for Braces?

August 12th, 2014
Q.

Hi Doctor. My teeth are very very crooked and I’m desperate to get them straightened. I like the idea of lingual braces because I’m still at school so nobody would be able to see them. But my orthodontist has told me I’m going to have to pay nearly £2000 even though I’m in full-time education, but neither me or my parents can afford this. He said it’s because it’s classed as cosmetic surgery, but my dentist has been promising braces since I was 8 and in primary school. Should I have to pay for braces?

Can I Correct the Gaps in My Teeth, and How Much Will it Cost?

June 26th, 2014
Q.

Hi Ian. I’ve got fairly large gaps between my teeth and am considering the different ways of correcting the problem. I wore braces when I was 17-18, but I never wore the retainers properly which I’m assuming is what has caused the gaps. I’m now in my 40′s, is it possible to correct the gaps now even though I’ve waited so long? Also how long would it take and how much would it cost? I look forward to your response.

I’m 16 and Still At School. Why Do I Need to Pay For Treatment?

June 23rd, 2014
Q.

Hi, I’m 16 years old and still at school. My teeth are very wonky on both the top and the bottom. I visited an orthodontist and he said I’d have to pay nearly £2000. He said this is because it’s classed as a cosmetic thing, but my normal dentist has been telling me I need braces since I was 7. I’ve got a wisdom tooth coming through at the bottom and it’s pushing my teeth and making them even more crooked. Can I have any other kind of treatment that isn’t so expensive?

What’s the Best Treatment for Fixing a Gap Between Teeth?

June 5th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi. I have just turned 22 and recently I’ve noticed that there’s a gap between two of my teeth at the front. Well, I say noticed, it has always been there but it seems to have gotten bigger and I’m not imagining things, my boyfriend has noticed it too. Is there a treatment that will fix the gap? It’s knocked my confidence quite a lot you see. I understand that it won’t close overnight with any brace, but I’d prefer quick treatment, especially if the braces are ugly! Thanks.

I Have A Gap Between My Teeth. Which Kind Of Treatment Is Most Suitable?

May 29th, 2014
Q.

Hello, please answer me. I have an overbite, but this doesn’t bother me as much as the massive gap between my front teeth. What kind of treatment would be best for closing the gap? I’ve looked at veneers, but would the overbite prevent me from being able to have them? I’ve also thought about dentures! My dentist has told me that braces might be best but I’m concerned about the length of time it would take to close the gap. Thank you for your time!

I Have Porcelain Crowns And I Would Like To Know If Lingual Braces Are Suitable Or Is There A Chance They Can Chip?

October 21st, 2013
Q.

Hi. I have to porcelain crowns on my front teeth because of an accident I was involved in several years ago. My canine teeth have always protruded and I’m looking into getting some discreet braces. My only concern is that a brace will damage my crowns, they’re very new I only had them replaced last month. Even if I had braces attached to the back of my teeth there’s a chance they’ll chip away at the back of my crowns, isn’t there? Can you please help me and offer some advice. What is a good brace for those with crowns? Thank you for your time.

I Made An Appointment Recently As I’m Having Six Month Smile Treatment, But My Dentist Is Ill And I Don’t Know What To Do?

October 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi, I have a problem I’d like to get off my chest as it’s really bothering me. I made an appointment recently with my dentist as soon as I had my adjustments (for 6 month smiles). I was supposed to have an appointment this week but it was cancelled due to him taking ill. I haven’t been scheduled to see anyone else and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do? The receptionist said someone would be in touch but they haven’t yet so should I be concerned? Will this delay affect my treatment at all?

Can You Detail What The Recovery Period Is Like After Jaw Break Surgery?

June 4th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr I hope you can clear a few things up for me. I have a terrible bite problem that’s been bugging me for years and I am wondering whether to go through with jaw break surgery so that I can also have my teeth straightened with orthodontics. Is the healing process particularly painful? WIll I have to have a completely liquid diet after it, and if so for how long? Also, how much time do you think that I’ll need off work in order to get all of this done correctly? Looking forward to your response. Thank you.

Is Filing My Teeth Down The Way To Get Rid Of My Overbite?

April 15th, 2013
Q.

I have a over bite really bad my two front teeth are long there not crooked or anything kinda look like rabbit teeth and I was wondering how I would get it fixed? if braces would help? or if there was such a thing where they could shave them down? everytime I try to open my mouth all the way my jaw will pop before I can open it what could that be? I think they called it TMJ I don’t know if that could have something to do with me having an over bite or not.
