Braces are to be removed but dentist has left my lateral incisor teeth with space either side. What happens next?

March 13th, 2013
Q.

Hello. I am nineteen and I am having my orthodontic braces removed next month finally. My teeth are straight now and my compacted canine teeth have been corrected. My lateral incisor teeth are very narrow and the orthodontist has left them with space either side and advised me to return to my dentist to get the spaces filled to widen the teeth and improve my smile rather than tighten the brace further and fill in spaces. I was wondering how much a procedure like this would cost? And also if it would be more beneficial to wear braces longer to fix the spaces rather than fill them in? Thank you

I had braces 3 years ago but a gap has suddenly appeared between my lateral and central incisors. What should I do?

Q.

Hi, I had braces for about 3 years and got them removed early. I wear my retainers 24/7 now that I have some that fit okay. A few months later I started flossing daily and noticed that a tiny gap appeared in between my lateral and central incisors on both sides on the top teeth. I am quiet elf conscious about it as I had braces for 3 years and expected near perfect teeth. Will a fixed retainer, some wires or something else be required to fix these tiny gaps? I really hope nothing big has to happen because they are only tiny (not really noticeable) But still make me feel self conscious. Thank you.

How much would a front braces cost to fix my gapped teeth?

February 27th, 2013
Q.

Hello. I have a question about a front brace ? What would be the average price for it ? Hi I just thought I would ask these questions as my two front teeth aren’t together completely as my left tooth is forward more than the rest of my teeth so this makes it looks very unappealing to smile with it and i’m mocked for it and i’m now over eighteen so i don’t know how much it would cost in terms of dentist prices for a front brace Thank you for your time if you have a chance to read this as i would love some help .. Thank you.

How long is it to get tooth gap closed wearing braces?

February 6th, 2013
Q.

Hi I have always had a gap betwwen my teeth, and I hated it, so after so many years I’m going to do something about it. How many dental visits do I have to make before and after the gap is closed and I have a tooth that is slightly higher up than all my other teeth, will this affect the gap being closed? Does the procedure take long and what do I have to do straight after the gap is closed? I cannot wait to start feeling confident again. thanks for your time. Kind Regards

Orthodontist recommended putting chains on my son’s teeth to pull them down. What is this?

January 17th, 2013
Q.

My son is 13 years old. He has been seeing orthodontist for about5-6 years. He has had many many teeth pulled. He has 4 teeth that are not coming in. The orthodontist is going to put chains on these teeth and pull them down. I have never heard of this and it scares me.Have you ever heard of this? Is there a chance of them coming in on there own. I would rather wait, but he doesn’t want to wait any longer.

Can I get braces if I already have a dental bridge?

January 17th, 2013
Q.

I have lost one of my upper canine teeth in an unforeseen accident and have had it replaced with a dental bridge. However, the dental problems dont end there, as my top teeth are very crooked and I am not at all happy with how my smile looks. I wonder then can I get braces to straighten my teeth whilst Im wearing a dental bridge? Is this possible? Or will it have to be taken out for the treatment to be completed? The bridge is attached with cement to the two opposing teeth; so will this pose any more difficulties? I would really like a good smile so any help you can give me would be really brilliant. Thanks

I had braces but my teeth have since relapsed. I don’t want braces or anything too invasive. Can you advise?

January 17th, 2013
Q.

i already wore braces when i was in my seventh grade .But now after six years i am experiencing a relapse and there is a gap in between my front two teeth and one of my front tooth is slightly up .do i need to wear braces again and undergo the whole treatment over again or is there any other way i could bridge the gap between my front two teeth without cutting the teeth and then filling them .Some doctors i visited here advised me to either put on braces for a year again or suggested me to undergo root canal and cut the tooth which is in the front and then fill the gap and place a cap . i do not wan to cut my teeth nor undergo the braces treatment all over again .so could you please suggest a method .

Is 3 months a reasonable treatment time for the Inman Aligner?

January 11th, 2013
Q.

My dentist has told me that my treatment will only be a few months and I just wanted to make sure that that was the right diagnosis of my orthodontic condition. I question it just because I had treatment a few years back (which has now moved) and it took like over a year for anything to have happened and that was a fixed brace. I know my teeth aren’t as bad now, but I am just a bit worried that my dentist might just be fobbing me off. What do you think? Is 3 months a general treatment time with the Inman aligner? Thank you .
