Braces are to be removed but dentist has left my lateral incisor teeth with space either side. What happens next?

Q.
Hello. I am nineteen and I am having my orthodontic braces removed next month finally. My teeth are straight now and my compacted canine teeth have been corrected. My lateral incisor teeth are very narrow and the orthodontist has left them with space either side and advised me to return to my dentist to get the spaces filled to widen the teeth and improve my smile rather than tighten the brace further and fill in spaces. I was wondering how much a procedure like this would cost? And also if it would be more beneficial to wear braces longer to fix the spaces rather than fill them in? Thank you
A.
Hey there, your Orthodontist has done the right thing in keeping the spaces open. It will look much better in the long-term. I do not know what it cost and you would need to ask a dentist for approximate costing for this particular case.
Try one of the general dentist on the site for a costing and I hope that helps!
Good luck
